This podcast was part of a student project I got asked to participate in …. Inside Out Talk aims to bring people together by discussing LGBT+ issues, people, community, influencers, history and politics. In this special podcast, we will look at a parent’s point of view on how their LGBT+ child has come out to them and how they reacted and supported them, as well as the struggles they and their child have faced as being part of the LGBT+ community. We can say that in our time, people are more open towards LGBT+ people and family members are more accepting than in the past, but there are still many parents that don’t understand this subject and might have a negative reaction if their children were to come out to them as being part of the LGBT+ community. We aim to discuss some of these issues in our fortnightly podcast.
