Isle of Wight – Exploring Cowes in a day!

We took the Red Jet ferry from Southampton (UK) to Cowes in the Isle of Wight to see what the famous yachting town offered. Cowes is the centre point for the Cowes week yacht regatta which brings thousands of visitors to the small Island. It has many pubs catering to a variety of tastes from traditional to gastro and during the summer people, there is a real party vibe as people spill out onto the streets and beer gardens. This trip was out of season however during the short period of time spent on the island I was able to explore the shops in West Cowes, the Floating Bridge, East Cowes promenade, Osbourne House and Queen Victoria’s church – St. Milfred’s in Whippingham as well as several pubs on the route!
